I wanted to explore the incredible texture that lost wax casting is able to capture with these pieces by venturing into the uncanny valley. Real materials and organic tissue continued to feel familiar to me even when cast in glass, and I worked with this perception while creating these chimeras to make them feel almost living. With playful shapes and lopsided proportions, the wanderers are at once unsettling and endearing, and have become treasured residents of my garden.
